Mexico's Ontiveros and Virgen power through in Rotterdam

Lombardo Ontiveros and Juan Virgen just keep on going at their second World Championships. The Mexicans, who won their pool in Rotterdam with straight wins, defeated Dutch team Michiel van Dorsten and Steven van de Velde on Wednesday in the first elimination round: 21-19, 24-22.

"It was a very tough match", Lombardo Ontiveros said. "I think the second set was very important. We had to push hard to take the lead. But we didn't despair and in the end it worked well for us."

Young Dutchies will try to stop upcoming Mexicans

Michiel van Dorsten and Steven van de Velde will try to stop Mexico's impeccable run in the first elimination round on Wednesday. The Dutchies finished second in their pool in Apeldoorn, while Lombardo Ontiveros and Juan Virgen took everyone by surprise to top pool L with three straight wins.
